
Ocean-Safaris Hout Bay became to life after Lock-down and the devastation on the tourist industry, 3 different boat charter companies merged into one to pull together to survive. out of bad came some good. Nauticat Charters, Drumbeat Charters and Captain Jacks which is now officially Ocean Safaris Hout Bay.
Our fleet consists of the MV Nauticat (140 pax), MV Drumbeat II (118 pax), MV Cawsaw (10 pax) and MV Jester (190 Pax).
All our vessels are used interchangeably and the company decides which vessel is used per day, to offer the best experience according to the weather and sea conditions.

MV Nauticat
The MV Nauticat has been operating since 2000 in Hout Bay doing Seal Island cruises as well as private functions and events.
MV Jester
The MV Jester has been in the Company since 2015 and has been based at the V&A Waterfront, operating as one of the Robbin Island ferries. The MV Jester is a supreme functions vessel and the options are endless.
Drumbeat Charters

Drumbeat Charters has been operating since 1989 and is based in the famous fishing village of Hout Bay offering daily scenic cruises to one of Cape Town’s main attractions.
While aboard you are surrounded with breath-taking scenery of the famous Chapmans Peak Drive and the Sentinel Mountain.
The vessel, Drumbeat II has been purposefully designed and built in Cape Town for the sea and weather conditions off the Cape coast.
The entire vessel is constructed out of marine grade aluminum. She is twenty one meters in length and has two inboard 400 Cummins diesel engines.

Caswsaw – High Speed Inflatable
Our fabulous boat is a CAWSAW 8.5m Gemini semi-rigid RIB, with two 4-stroke 200HP Yamaha Engines. It complies with all the regulations set by the South African Maritime Safety Authority (SAMSA). The SAMSA approved safety equipment on board includes a radio, life jackets, a first aid kit and flares.
The boat can accommodate up to 10 Passengers and it’s always on standby to get you out to the sea life as quickly as possible as soon as they are spotted in the bay.
